Distribution Strategy and Selection Criteria
The distribution of laptops under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023 follows a transparent and merit-based approach. Here’s an overview of the distribution strategy and selection criteria:
- After the students have submitted their applications through the HEC online portal, a system will filter eligible and ineligible applicants.
- The Focal Person from the relevant department will verify the student’s data through their online focal person account. This verification process includes checking the student’s name, CNIC, department, degree level, and last exam percentage/CGPA.
- The University Focal Person holds the responsibility for verifying the student’s data. In case of any discrepancies, the data will be amended accordingly by updating or editing the student’s information.
- The Focal Person has the authority to disapprove, verify, or make corrections to the student’s application within the given timeline.
- Each institute will be allocated a specific number of laptops based on predefined quotas determined by eligibility and merit criteria.
- Once the deadline for verification from HEC has expired, an automated process will generate merit lists for each university.
- The provisional merit list will be shared with the institutes for cross-checking, and any discrepancies found should be reported within 15 days
