Eight teachers were shot dead in Para Chanaar,Upper Kuram area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday while they were on duty at the Mengal High School for board exams.
According to the details, two incidents occurred on the same day. In the first incident, one teacher was targeted and fired upon while he was driving his car, resulting in his death. The second incident took place inside the school premises where seven teachers were mercilessly shot by unidentified gunmen.
Following the awful act, which shocked the entire region, the Kohat board decided to postpone all the exams in the province. The police have opened an investigation to identify those responsible for this brutal attack on the helpless teachers.
The incident has also caused President Arif Alvi to express his deep sorrow and grief. He has prayed for the souls of the deceased and sent his condolences to the families of the victims. He issued a statement in which he strongly condemned the horrific assault and stated that those responsible of this heinous act would soon face justice. Politicians, members of civic society, and citizens from all walks of life have all strongly condemned the act.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Moshin Naqvi, also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and strongly condemned the incident.
